camera arialNo matter if heights are a frightening prospect or the astronomical costs of getting a plane are not in the budget, getting the perfect aerial shot is still within reach. There are tricks of the trade used by smart, economically savvy photographers. Although you probably would not have been able to tell, the secret is that many photos appearing to have been taken from mid-air are only fooling you. Using actual flying means is many times not practical or even available. A phobia of flying itself or the thought of having to work from the confines of a small area can be daunting.

It then becomes a matter of finding the right vantage point. Search your surroundings for a good prospect such as nearby hills or a high building within the area. Sea photos can be uniquely captured using the viewpoint from a lighthouse. Many times the same height you would get from a plane is reachable even with your feet still on the ground!
